Wherefore Art Thou, Steve?

Well it happened. A few months after launching my blog, all bubbling over with enthusiasm and energy, like so many before me I allowed it to tumble off the tracks into a gutter of disrepair and ruin, at least for the past several weeks.

But fear not, there’s a spark of life glimmering deep in the belly of this puppy yet, and all it takes is a small scratch in the right spot to drag it to the surface, mobilizing that leg to kick contentedly into the air once more (yes, I’m still obsessed with my dog, in case you’re wondering).

The truth is a few weeks ago I went on vacation, and subsequently experienced a string of trifling but annoying health issues that dragged my energy level down and, along with competing priorities, succeeded in de-railing my weekly blog updates. By the way, thanks to all of you who prodded me for not updating, it’s exactly what I need sometimes.

There is a silver lining to the whole thing – it made me re-evaluate the way I’m producing my comics, so going forward I’ll be doing things a little differently. You shouldn’t see much difference in the output hopefully, but it should allow me to keep updating even through those weeks when other life events slam into my carefully balanced week. I estimate in about another week I’ll be able to start up the weekly updates again, hopefully uninterrupted for a long time this time. oh yes.

In the meantime I do have something new to share with you. Like so many high school kids out there I’ve recently joined the unwashed masses of youtube with some exciting videos of me in my bedroom playing with my instrument – guitar that is. Here they are for your enjoyment and critique:

Human (Killers cover)

Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes (Paul Simon cover)

The Other Man (Sloan cover)

Can’t Stop Thinking About You (Martin Sexton cover)
